The Thrilling Adventures of SupermanWelcome to episode 84 of The Thrilling Adventures of Superman. The show’s mission is to explore the history and development of the Superman in his formative years by chronicling the Man of Steel’s Golden Age adventures in comics, radio and film.

A series of strange accidents have struck the fair city of Metropolis! Michael looks at the 17th storyline from the Superman daily newspaper strip, Clark Kent is assigned to the case, but finds the “accidents” are anything but, leading to Superman tangling with the mysterious hooded saboteur behind them all. Also this episode, Michael presents a Spotlight on Superman artist Don Komisarow!

And don’t forget, another episode of the show will be released on Friday, Aug. 17!

The Thrilling Adventures of SupermanWelcome to episode 83 of The Thrilling Adventures of Superman. The show’s mission is to explore the history and development of the Superman in his formative years by chronicling the Man of Steel’s Golden Age adventures in comics, radio and film.

It’s a special time for fans of Superman. And in this, the latest of the show’s fifth week installments, Michael pauses to cautiously celebrate, as he offers some thoughts on the recently released teasers for “Man of Steel” — and some thoughts on the movie as a whole.

The Thrilling Adventures of SupermanWelcome to episode 82 of The Thrilling Adventures of Superman. The show’s mission is to explore the history and development of the Superman in his formative years by chronicling the Man of Steel’s Golden Age adventures in comics, radio and film.

We return to the Man of Steel’s audio adventures this episode for a look at the 17th storyline from the Superman radio serial. After wrapping up the dangling plot elements from last storyline, Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen and, of course, Superman, set sail into a brand new adventure as a wayward turtle leads them to investigate “The Curse of Dead Man’s Island!”

The Superman radio show, obviously, doesn’t allow for scans of images from the story. However, here is a look at a couple spot illustrations, that accompanied the text adaptation of the story in the October 1941 issue of Radio and Television Mirror, as well as a look at that issue’s cover. Art was likely done by members of the Shuster shop. Who penned the adaptations themselves, however, is not known.

The Thrilling Adventures of SupermanWelcome to episode 81 of The Thrilling Adventures of Superman. The show’s mission is to explore the history and development of the Superman in his formative years by chronicling the Man of Steel’s Golden Age adventures in comics, radio and film.

This episode, Michael looks at the Superman story story from ACTION COMICS #30! A snow-storm blankets the city of Metropolis… in mid-July?! What could be the cause? This is only the first of many questions tackled by Superman in this tale — including an end-of-the-story twist so shocking that you’ll never see it coming (and may wish you could un-see it once you do…)!

The Thrilling Adventures of SupermanWelcome to episode 80 of The Thrilling Adventures of Superman. The show’s mission is to explore the history and development of the Superman in his formative years by chronicling the Man of Steel’s Golden Age adventures in comics, radio and film.

Clark Kent is sent on assignment to cover a professor’s fascinating new bathysphere as Michael looks at the 16th storyline from the Superman radio serial. But, there’s more more than anyone bargained for as harrowing danger, deadly pirates and baffling mystery all cross Superman’s path. Plus, Jimmy Olsen becomes the luckiest boy in the world when he gets his very first face-to-face meeting with a certain red-caped hero!
