Upcoming: ‘Boys of Steel’ paperback edition

Author Marc Tyler Nobleman has announced via Facebook that his book on Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster and the creation of Superman, “Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman,” will be re-released next year in a “Superman’s 75th anniversary” paperback edition.

The book is an excellent read for all ages and, to date, the only stand-alone biography on Siegel and Shuster. Pick up the hardback edition today, get the paperback version next year — or better yet, both!

No word yet on a specific date, but look here for the news when it is announced.

The Shuster Sports Arena

As part of the celebration of the legacy of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the site will, from time to time, showcase tributes, Easter Eggs and homages paid to one or both of them in stories.

First up is this scene from SUPERMAN #661 which takes place at the Shuster Sports Arena.

The story also had scenes taking place at 1419 Holloway Square (named after actor Sterling Holloway, who appeared on three episodes of “The Adventures of Superman”) and Clark and Lois’s in-continuity address at the time, 1938 Sullivan Place (an address derived from the year of Superman’s debut and his first editor, Vin Sullivan).
