  1. Hi Michael,

I enjoyed hearing Billy on your show. It was nice to have you two tag-team on this tale of brothers. Unfortunately, I have never read this story. I have long known it was regarded as a classic among imaginary tales, but I’ve never ran across it in any form. I think I need to get that Imaginary Stories TPB, and remedy this situation, don’t you?

Even though I haven’t read it yet, from your coverage, I can detect the influence of young writers like Shooter scraping off the stodgy veneer of Silver Age stories, bringing more true emotion to the story. The 16-year old Shooter seemed to convey some real pathos on the part of this version of Batman. This was no doubt due to some influence by Marvel, which was starting to make old DC look stale by comparison. A change was in the wind, indeed!

    Chris

    Greetings!

This was a fun episode to listen to. It was great to hear you both discussing this story. One bit of frustration is that, like Chris, I don’t have this issue either. Any chance that you could take a page from the Fire and Water Podcast and start up a Tumblr account to help highlight interesting panels from the show? I know it means extra work for you, but maybe you could consider it for future episodes.

    Thanks!
