  1. Hey Michael,

    You are much kinder to Don Heck than most DC fans. Heck’s work often looked rushed and somewhat “phoned in” during this period, but I think it may be that Heck, much like Curt Swan, has a much more illustrative style than was suitable for some inkers. In other words, they didn’t know how to handle his artwork correctly. I don’t remember much about this story, but I do remember that weird Batman body condom. Oddly enough, Heck drew a Robin/Batgirl story in Batman Family that featured the Dynamite Duo in similar protective gear just a few years prior. It guest-starred Kid-Flash, as I recall…

    Hey, where’s that Hembeck cartoon you promised? 😉
